iOS 18 makes iPhone more personal, capable, and intelligent than ever

The most significant makeover of Photos in history, significant enhancements for connectivity, and the introduction of Apple Intelligence, a personal intelligence system, are all included in this edition.

California's Cupertino, Today, Apple gave a sneak peek at iOS 18, a significant update that includes a ton of customization choices, the largest makeover of the Photos app to date, new Mail and Messages inbox management capabilities, satellite messaging, and much more. Users will have the ability to personalize the Lock Screen's bottom buttons, organize widgets and apps in any available space, and rapidly access additional Control Center controls. In Photos, photo libraries are arranged automatically into a new single view, and useful new collections make favorites quickly available. With the use of on-device intelligence, Mail sorts emails into categories to streamline the inbox, and iMessage now offers brand-new text effects.
When a cellular or Wi-Fi connection is unavailable, users can now communicate over satellite using the Messages app. This innovative technology is backed by the same capabilities found in existing iPhone satellite capabilities.

Additionally, iOS 18 brings Apple Intelligence, a personal intelligence system for the iPhone, iPad, and Mac that delivers exceptionally relevant and helpful intelligence by fusing the power of generative models with individual context.2. Apple Intelligence, which was developed with privacy as a top priority, is extensively incorporated into iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS Sequoia. It makes use of the capabilities of Apple silicon to simplify and expedite daily chores by understanding and producing language and graphics, executing actions across apps, and drawing from personal context.

We are pleased to present iOS 18. With amazing features like enhanced customization and functionality, a revamped Photos app, and potent ways to stay in touch with Messages, it's a major release. Craig Federighi, senior vice president of software engineering at Apple, stated that there are numerous advantages for all parties involved. "With privacy at its core, Apple Intelligence will deliver powerful, intuitive, and instantly useful experiences that will transform the iPhone experience. This release also heralds the start of a tremendously exciting new era of personal intelligence." We are eager for users to get their hands on it.

New Level of Possibility and Personalization

Users of iPhones now have additional customization options for Control Center, Lock Screen, and Home Screen. On the Home Screen, users may now organize widgets and apps in any available area. For example, they can arrange them to perfectly frame a wallpaper or sit directly above the dock for convenient access. Users have the ability to customize their experience by making app icons and widgets appear larger and giving them a dark or tinted effect.

Control Center has been updated with new levels of flexibility and customization to make it easier for users to access many of the tasks they perform on a daily basis. With the redesign, users can now quickly access new groupings of frequently used options, like media playback, connectivity, and Home controls, and swipe between them with ease. Now, users can add functions from compatible third-party apps to Control Center and instantly unlock a car or start filming material for social media, all from one location. Users can rearrange the controls to suit their needs, including resizing them to the perfect size and forming new groups, all of which are displayed in the controls gallery.
Users may now choose from alternatives in the controls gallery or remove them completely, making it possible to change the controls at the bottom of the Lock Screen for the first time. On the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, users can rapidly access controls found in the gallery by tapping the Action button.

Unified View, New Collections, and Customization for Photos

To make it easier for consumers to identify and revisit memorable experiences, Photos gets its largest redesign to date. The classic grid is presented in a simpler single view, and new collections allow users to browse content by themes without having to arrange it into albums. Additionally, collections can be pinned to maintain easy access to favorites. A fresh carousel view showcases daily updated highlights of cherished individuals, animals, locations, and more. Libraries come to life with autoplaying content, allowing users to browse while relishing in the memories of the past. Since every user has a different photo library, the app allows users to personalize it by allowing them to organize collections, pin collections for easy access, and display their most valued photos in a carousel format.

Powerful Ways to Stay Connected in Messages

All-new text effects are added to iMessage, enhancing any letter, word, phrase, or emoji with lively, animated looks to make conversations come to life. By using formatting tools like bold, underlining, italics, and strikethrough, users can more effectively convey their tone. Tapbacks now allow users to construct messages and schedule them to be sent at a later time. They also support any emoji or sticker.

Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh killed in Iran, Hamas says

Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh killed in Iran, Hamas says Reuters, July 31, CAIRO - Ismail Haniyeh, the head of Hamas, was slain in Iran early on Wednesday, the Palestinian militant group announced, raising concerns about a further escalation in a region already unsettled by Israel's war in Gaza and a deepening crisis in Lebanon. Hours after Haniyeh attended the inauguration of the nation's new president, the Revolutionary Guards of Iran declared that an investigation was underway and confirmed Haniyeh's passing. Israel refrained from commenting right away. The Israeli military did not provide any new security directives for civilians, but it did state that it was performing a situational assessment. The announcement seems to have hampered the prospects of an impending ceasefire in Gaza, given it was made le...

Inside the Graeter's bakery: How the King Cake is made

Inside the Graeter's bakery: How the King Cake is made  Fat Tuesday marks the last day to indulge in the junk food and sweets before the start of Lent begins on Ash Wednesday. A traditional King Cake is a blend of coffee cake and a cinnamon roll with loads of sugar. The King Cake comes from the biblical story of the three kings who brought gifts to Baby Jesus. And a plastic baby is often hidden inside. Tradition says the person who finds the baby has to buy the cake the following year. So you might find yourself popping into Graeter’s to pickup a cake for friends of co-workers today. But the process to make that King Cake takes hours, sometimes days at the Graeter’s bakery. “By the time Tuesday comes around, we will have done about 375 large and 1200 small,” shared Graeter’s Lead Baker Anthony Schwier. Anthony has been with Graeter’s exactly 20 years now, plenty of time to perfect the process. Anthony stated, "We make our Danish dough with 16 ingredients, 500 pounds at a time....
